This inforgraphic that I found is really unique in the fact that it is just type. Most inforgraphics I see at least have some sort of graphic elements in them. The only thing that I wish was different was that at least the top section was justified with the bottom, the You are richer... and If you Have, the centered throws me off but I think it is a great use of type, color and the texture that the type gives off.

This one I found of a resume done like an inforgraphic is super inspiring. The colors and the different type work really well in this instants. I think it is really difficult to find more that 2 or 3 types that can function and work together. He has found a way to add emphasis and with the type and the graphic elements are not that overwhelming.
I agree with the first one and throws me off too because of the "you are richer" and "if you have" Because to me its seems like a mistake almost? Unless it was intentional. Other than that i love the colors used and the different use of typefaces. The headline catch my eye with the swirl. Towards the bottom there is some paint splatter? i think? I think that creates texture and interest.
ReplyDeleteFor the second this was fun! I like the color palette and the typefaces used as well. It looks unified. Some thing are quite funny too. Like the orange guy getting kicked out and the "don't do this to Rob's resume" He used graphics and type in a successful way without being overwhelming or over the top!
As for the first one, that confused me as well, the paint splatter and the arrow. I think with just type and the glyph in the middle it would work much better and with the whole page justified. I do however like the weathered background against the blues in the type!
DeleteThe second one, I agree that it is very eye catching and it makes you want to read it!
I agree Colleen with the first one and that the background works well with the colors and the type. It creates unity. I also agree that if it was justified it will make the piece a lot more stronger.

ReplyDeleteOK - so here's a thought. Maybe, if the section being discussed (the one with the big blue parenthesis behind it) had more negative space above and below...it might look more intentional, and be more successful. Sometimes, a fully justified page of text can be too dense to be visually appealing... and I suspect that is why this section is aligned differently... but I agree with you all - it's not as successful as it could be!
ReplyDeleteFound myself much more interested in the self-promo for Rob!!
I think that is what is missing, the negative space. I think a few more edits and it would be a successful typography piece.
DeleteThe more I look at the Rob Resume, I am more and more inspired to do an infogaphic resume for myself!
