Infographics: graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge. It allows to represent complex information quickly and clearly.
I wanted find infographics that use typography and I wanted both examples to be different. The first one is about a UNIC mini spider-cane and how much it can lift, to how much it weighs. It's quite interesting! Because of the colors it kinda reminds me of a map? Like the old ones? "x marks the spot" I like that the designer added a graphic effect to big typeface, like the ox horns and the Africa. The second one is more of a serious topic. It's an anti-abortion infographic. I found this one interesting because of the way the words feel like they're getting sucked into the tube. The use of a gradient on the words also creates a mood. It goes from light to dark? Why? I like the approach of this infographic because instead all the facts and information are ghosted in the background with shades of grey. Probably to make the baby the focal point? To make the reader see that first.
The MIni-Mighty infographic is a great example of "filled type." I guess I wish it was larger because I can't read all of it... or maybe in some instances the emphasis is misplaced? Hmmm... what do you think?
ReplyDeleteI know, I'm sorry I wish it was larger too. Or maybe it isn't large enough because it represent something small? "small spider crane?" Perhaps?
DeleteI suspect it's small because this was the size it was used on the Web... for some reason the person who placed it there wasn't interested in what it said.
