David Carson has such a crazy style. But it so interesting to see what he designs and creates. Its so wild yet I like it because its so out there and it looks awesome! I like the way he made his name look like its falling.The red bars are interesting too? And creates contrast. I also like the waveform he did with the letters.
So... and I know I've asked it before.... how important IS it to design something that IS readable? When is it OK to give up content for the sake of the design?
There have been a few pieces of David Carson's shown in class this quarter, but none of them particularly appealed to me, until I saw this one. For some reason, it all makes sense, and its a great design.
As for how much should be readable.... I don't think there will ever be a clear answer to that question. It all depends on how much NEEDS to be read, if any. In this poster, even if you can't actually read everything in the wave, it still works. You can still read what NEEDS to be read, easily.
